Yeast nutrients are an important addition to the brewing process as they provide much needed minerals to maximise the efficiency of the yeast throughout the fermentation process. This can have a net result of shortening the lag time (period prior to active fermentation commencing) and also reducing the fermentation cycle.
Usage: For a 23L batch, 5 grams (~1/2 teaspoon) should be added 10 minutes prior to the end of the boil.
